Let's take a closer look at the structure of the KiCad-Starter project you cloned earlier. It's divided into a number of subdirectories for easy organization: Circuit: This folder contains the actual KiCad project files (schematic, PCB, etc). I don't rename this folder, but I do rename all the files inside with the name of the project (Circuit. If a field in your project captures the right data, but a different title would more accurately describe what's being captured, you can simply rename the field. Renaming the field involves first hiding the column, and then showing it again with the new field name. Make a note of the current name of the field.
Issue:
After copying a project in Windows Explorer the project folder has a new name but the project name shown in the project manager has still the old name:How can the project be renamed to the new name?
Solution:
To change the project name you have to do it in the databases. For a SQLite project you have to do this in these files:- Piping.dcf
- Processpower.dcf
- Ortho.dcf
- Iso.dcf
- Misc.dcf (since 2015)
- <Prefix>Piping
- <Prefix>PnID
- <Prefix>Ortho
- <Prefix>Iso
- <Prefix>Misc (since 2015)
For SQL Server you have to use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
Follow these steps:
- Look in each of these files/databases for the table 'PnPProject'.
- Change here project name in the column 'Project_Name':

For more information on the TOFE interface, see the HDMI2USB website. For the KiCad website for more information on using it.
Using
- Fork the github repo at timvideos/HDMI2USB-TOFE-kicad-template
- Rename your repository in the GitHub settings.
- Use the
rename-board.sh
script to get a starting KiCad schematic and PCB layout.
- (optional) Send mithro about your awesome work!
- Your schematic should include an EEPROM (either real or emulated) on theID_CLK and ID_DAT lines.
- Your schematic should include a TOFE header.
Board Design
The TOFE specification is very flexible regarding board shape. See thefollowing image for the many potential designs;
For full details on the TOFE mechanical specification, see themechanical part of the specification.

The design in this repository was made using KiCadversion 4.0.0-rc1-stable(this version is the current stable release candidateas of 2015-10-29).
A version for the older KiCad found in Ubuntu Trusty can be found in thefor-kicad-2013-07-07-BZR-4022branch.
